As you know, we search the globe for dancespiration and, after having Latin fever for some time, we’ve finally been able to bring a little bit of South America to the North-East. We can’t quite believe our luck but, as of Autumn 2013,  the incredible Yersin Rivas Cuban Salsa School has been in regular residence in the Famous Building.

In case you’ve not come across him – in which case, where have you been?! – Yersin has an impressive CV: originally from Cuba, he’s performed and taught all over the world, including coaching stars of stage and screen, and appearing in front of the camera himself.

His credits are diverse, ranging from a little local series some of you may have come across (Auf Weidersehen, Pet anyone?) to The Hour starring Dominic West. Every Saturday, you’ll find him in Studio 1 teaching the best in Latin grooves, including Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Afro-Cuban, Rumba, Bachata and La Ruedo. Classes will also cover styling and technical aspects of dance.

But don’t fret if you don’t know your mambo from your cuddle step (yep, that’s an actual salsa move!), with sessions for beginners as well as the more advanced, there’s definitely time to find your feet.
